In the period of March 24 – 27 2010, Association for Charity and Social Assistance “ACASA”, Member of the Coalition for Antidiscrimination, took part in the training course “Documentation and reporting the cases of Discrimination”.

The activity was organized by the Secretariat of the Coalition for Nondiscrimination in the framework of the project “Elaboration and promotion of nondiscrimination Policies in the Republic of Moldova” financially supported by the Civil Rights Defenders and Open Society Institute. This project was implemented by the Secretariat of the Coalition for Antidiscrimination hosted by the National Council of Youth from Moldova. The main goal of the training was strengthening internal capacities of the Coalition regarding the documentation process/collection and reporting the cases of discrimination. During the course were taken into discussion the following topics: General notions about discrimination, advocacy strategies documental evaluation of cases related to violation of Human Rights and elaboration of Media Releases.

There are two networks active in the field of children with disabilities and elderly within the Association ACASA. These two target groups are exposed to the risk of discrimination both at the level of communication and at the institutional level. Each social group exposed to the risk to be discriminated present specific elements of discriminative behavior and attitude. These are also completed by the social stereotypes and cultural norms. Thus, in the framework of the course were discussed and presented the most frequent and reasons of discrimination, both for final beneficiaries of the Networks, and for other groups discriminated based on the: ethnicity, race, sex, sexual orientation, social category or other criteria. These subjects contributed to better recognition of the phenomenon of discrimination on diverse criteria, of specific methods and techniques of documentation of cases of combating the phenomenon at all levels.
