National Program of Funding ACASA – JANIVO
During 10 years of activities the Association of Charity and Social Assistance ACASA, has developed and offered support to local, national and international partnerships. Thus, we intended to develop the collaboration with donors and potential donors from Moldova as well as from abroad (CORDAID Foundation, JANIVO Foundation, Schmitz – Hille Foundation, Help Age International, Dutch Embassy in Kiev, SOCIRES Foundation, etc.)
In 2001, ACASA organized the first study visit of the representatives of JANIVO Foundation from the Netherlands: Mr. Hendrik Jan de Vries (Director) and Mrs. Willemijn van Asbeck (coordinator). The first projects financed by JANIVO Foundation through the Association ACASA started in 2002.
ACASA became the official representative and partner of the JANIVO Foundation in Moldova, thus, establishing a mechanism of evaluation and monitoring of the projects applied for these funds.
In 2004, the JANIVO Foundation became member of an international funding structure: CNF CEE (Co-operating Netherlands Foundations for Central and Eastern Europe). Due to this, the budget available for financial support grew up and created more possibilities of funding for Moldovan NGOs.
In order to inaugurate this funding program, the JANIVO Foundation, in partnership with ACASA selected a Preselection Council which consists of 5 independent experts from different background in charge with projects selection at national level. This way, after a national competition of projects, selected projects are sent to the Netherlands for further examination. The applied projects participate in this program by turn as they were submitted in time.
From 2007, CNF CEE changed the funding priorities, focusing its funds in other regions of Europe, Asia and Africa. From 2008, the JANIVO Foundation does not make part of CNF CEE, preferring to continue funding of Moldovan projects.
Due to above mentioned reason; in 2008 the application forms from this Guide were revised. The application forms were completed to make them more useful both for applying organizations and for donors.
- We wish you good luck in applying your project proposals.
- With deep respect,
- Doina Stepanenco,
